PM tasks Qadri with wooing Fazl |
Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Thursday tasked Religious Affairs Minister Noor-ul-Haq Qadri to formulate a plan for dealing with Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s Azad March that is set to begin on October 27.
According to media reports, the minister, during a telephone call with the premier, was assigned with the task of contacting the Jamiat Ulema-e Islam- Fazl (JUI-F) leadership to seek details of the party’s plan and chalking out a plan to deal with protesters.
The prime minister has also asked Qadri to present recommendations with regard to the protest that Maulana plans to hold in the federal capital.
the premier would hold consultations in a meeting in the light of recommendations presented by the religious affairs minister.
They said the minister is also expected to contact the JUI-F Ameer.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday said that participants of his march would enter Islamabad on October 31.
Earlier, the party had announced to hold the protest on October 27 and sought permission from local authorities for a gathering near Islamabad’s D-Chowk.
