Isalamabad: (Political News) The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to innitiate an inquiry into the corruption case, taking action against Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
Shahbaz Sharif, president and opposition leader of Muslim League N, who has been accused of illegal allotment of Cholistan authority land.
The meeting of the Executive Board chaired by Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal. He approved the filing of six corruption references. The statement said that the NAB has also approved an inquiry against former Federal Minister Baligur Rahman.
NAB also approved the filing of an illegal contract by designating other accused. Including Sikandar Javed, in a clean water case.
According to the NAB declaration, reference was given against Farzana Raja for regulating the advertisement against the law. Regular NAB inquiry has been approved against PPP leader Nisar Khodro.
Apart from these individuals, Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani, N-League leader Rana Sanaullah, Senator Anwar-ul-Haq and former director of anti-corruption Sheikh Farid have also been cleared to start corruption inquiries. The Executive Board meeting decided to send an inquiry into the transfer of Rs 1 trillion of Pakistanis to Dubai to the FBR.
Addressing the meeting, Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal said that in the last 25 months, 630 corruption references were filed in the accountability courts. At present, 1270 references worth Rs 910 billion are being heard in the courts.
Chairman NAB Javed Iqbal said that in the last 25 months, Rs 73 billion should be collected from corrupt elements. Which was deposited in the national exchequer. Delivering mega-corruption cases to a logical end is a top priority. NAB is adhering to the policy of accountability for all.
