Mohammad Hafeez Refused to Receive a Showcase Notice from FBR
Star cricketer Mohammad Hafeez refused to receive a showcase notice from FBR (Federal Bureau of Revenue) amid reports that the tax collection agency is investigating to hide his assets.
Hafeez told Geo News “I am unaware of any FBR notices, I don’t know why such news is being spread.”
Hafeez also appeared to deny any tax evasion or assets being hidden, saying, “I file my tax return every year without any tax.”
However, sources within FBR have confirmed to Geo News that a showcase notice has been issued to Hafiz.
According to sources, the federal agency avoids the issue, having been auditing the experience of veteran all-rounders for the past five years.
Hafeez, according to the allegations, failed to declare assets worth Rs 70 million, which he has been asked to respond to.
