Born in 1950 in Chakwal, city of Pakistan. She is a well known Pakistani politician. Currently Minister of Punjab for primary and secondary healthcare from August 2018. Also a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab.
Family
Married to Rashid Nabi Malik, a well known politician in 1972. Her father in law was a former Punjab Minister of Education Malik Ghulam Nabi. While discussing Biography of Dr Yasmin Rashid it is pertinent to mention that her brother-in-law, Shahid Nabi Malik was associated with Pakistan Peoples Party.
Education
Initial education from chakwal. Admitted Convent of Jesus and Mary for schooling in Lahore.
From Fatima Jinnah Medical University completed her MBBS degree. Admitted in Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists UK in 1984 for further degree in gynecology. From College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan she passed FCPS.
Profession
From 1998 to 2000 she was Chairperson of the Pakistan Medical Association. Chairperson in Punjab of the Women Health Committee & Task Force for Women Development.
Joined King Edward Medical University, Rawalpindi Medical University, Fatima Jinnah Medical University and Central Park Medical College as heads of gynecology departments. Retired from government sector in 2010,
Politics
Joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in 2010,
Contested National Assembly of Pakistan election in NA-120 (Lahore-III) against Nawaz Sharif but lost.
In by-elections held in September 2017 she lost the election from Kulsoom Nawaz Sharif.
Elected member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as PTI candidate on reserved seat in 2018.
In 2018 joined provincial Punjab cabinet of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
